Reminds me of the Shawshank Redemption. After a lifetime in prison, Red realizes he's become "institutionalized" & probably wouldn't make it on the outside. I never talk to older ones about TTAT. They too, have become institutionalized. By the way, if you haven't seen the movie, I recommend it. Another apostate "must see" flick like the "Matrix". -

Will they change the Yearbook format?
by freddo inpure speculation here but i'm wondering if - with the numbers flat-lining - that the gb will stop giving country by country stats, or perhaps at least some of the statistics.. we used to get a monthly stat in the km - then that was "simplified" to "highlights".
only the "good" stuff.
then with the new clam workbook, no stats at all.. i wonder if the yearbook will soon only contain "positive" spun stats.

Their positive spin will be they are fulfilling Bible prophesy "The love of the greater number will cool off."

Are JWs the most gossiping people on earth?
by Londo111 inwe all gossip.
it is only human.
watchtower actually tries to instruct adherents not to gossip and it can land a jw in front of a judicial committee—some do try to follow this admonition.

Why do you think they keep the congregations small? So that everyone can "keep tabs" on everyone else easier. In these small groups everyone knows far way to much about everyone else and and their business.

I'm Going to Break Up with My Boyfriend Today
by LaurenM inso like the title suggests, i'm going to break up with my boyfriend today.
it's for several reasons, but mostly because i'm not prepared for a relationship.
i need to grow and learn what it's like to be me now that i'm not a jw and learn how to love myself so i don't make the person i am with miserable.

It's never easy starting a new life but it will be easier now then years later. There could be some discomfort but nothing like the hell you would be going through trying leave after you're married or with children. So get out there and meet new friends "the world' is not as bad a place that they have made it out to be.

After 52 years a Watchtower slave 9/11 gave me the push I needed to get out.
by new boy ini turned in my letter of disassociation on september 18, 2001 but it was 9/11 that showed me what the witnesses really feel about human lives and the future wished for.. i was in limbo after my wife of 27 years left me on july 30, 2001. she knew i wasn't buying the jw program anymore.
she told me she come back to me when "i got my head straighten out about god and the church".. so for 40 days i was in limbo.
i stopped going to meetings.

Thank you all for your wonder comments and insights.
To "flyinghighnow" After my DA letter, my JW life was over....including my 27 years marriage.
I was in that thought system for over 50 years. "Where there is life their is hope." So please don't give up on the people you know. Hopefully they too can get rid of the insanity that has consumed their lives.
They are in my thoughts and prayers.....

I Turned in my letter of Disassociation on September 18, 2001 but it was 9/11 that showed me what the witnesses really feel about human lives and the future wished for.
I was in limbo after my wife of 27 years left me on July 30, 2001. She knew I wasn't buying the JW program anymore. She told me she come back to me when "I got my head straighten out about god and the church".
So for 40 days I was in Limbo. I stopped going to meetings. I didn't have the balls to leave her and the church and I didn't have the balls to march out into "The world" and the great unknown.
At that time both were very scary places.
Then the phone call came early in the morning on September 11th. It was my JW friend Mike, calling from Washington.
"Turn on your TV! Go turn it on right now." After turning on the set I saw the scenes we all have seen, people jumping out of buildings, people running down the street with blood running down their faces and terror in their eyes.
Mike is telling me "This is it! This is just the beginning, the end is at hand!"
It's crazy there was almost a happiness in his voice.
At that moment I realized, that Mike and me for many years, plus all of the other Witnesses were waiting for the end to come. They were waiting for millions of people to die (not just the 3000 on 9/11) so they could be happy and finally have peace.
Yes, their salvation was at hand. God just needed to kill a few more million off.
I knew then that this blood thirst Jehovah was no longer the god I wanted "serve."
I had my first clue about him when I was only 9 years old, way back in 1958. There was a picture of Armageddon in the new book "Paradise lost to paradise regained." In the picture there was a little girl holding on to her doll as she and her dog were falling into this great abyss, sent there by you know who.
Yep, on the that day 15 years ago I was finally done with Jehovah the pissed off and angry god. So, for me 9/11 saved my life!

Hey Tenacious
You missed the point buddy. The stories I have related here are true enough. The roles I've played are not who I really am. I played the role of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years and yet that is not who I truly was. I believed in that role. In the end it was just a role. I have stepped off that stage.
What roles are you currently playing that are not who you really are?
